Directions

If you are coming from Denver or southern Colorado. Take I-25 to HWY. 36 into Boulder. Once you get into Boulder 36 will turn into 28th St. Go right onto Arapaho until you reach 29th. Scott Carpenter Yard is on the corner of Arapaho and 29th.

Take US-85 to Eaton and turn west on 3rd Street. Go six blocks and the field will be on the south side of the street.

From I-25, East Harmony Road (aka rd 74) goes to Eaton.

Hwy. 36 to Boulder; Table Mesa exit; west 1 mile on Table Mesa; south on Broadway 1 mile; right on Greenbriar; 1515 Greenbriar. If coming from South on Hwy. 93 as soon as you hit the city limits turn left on Greenbriar.

If coming from the north take Longmont diagonal into Boulder and go S. on Foothills Pkwy to Table Mesa Exit and then follow the beginning of these directions from west on Table Mesa and on.

Take the Diagonal to Longmont, continue on CO-119 to I-25. Take I-25 North to Fort Collins. Take the Harmony Rd exit. Go 2.5 mi, turn right (N) at S Timberline Rd. Go 1.2 mi, turn right at Lambkin Way.

Take I-76 east to the first Fort Morgan exit or Hwy. 34 junction. Head East four miles until you come to West street (you will see Safeway). Turn right, head South over the railroad tracks, the field will be on you left.

Coming from I-25--Take Highway 34 East to Greeley. Stay on the main highway. Once in town, take the 23rd Avenue Exit. At the stoplight, turn left (north) onto 23rd Avenue. Go through 3 lights. Ater the 3rd light (Reservoir Road), there will be a left turn lane just past the Fire Station and Library. Turn and drive back to the west and you will see the field.

Forbes Field is named for Carroll Forbes who took the direct route to having a field named in his honor -- he built it.

Forbes, along with John R.P. Wheeler, bought the land near the intersection of 23rd Avenue and 8th Street and built a softball park. Forbes, who is given credit for naming the game of softball (over kitten ball or punkin ball - the other two national contenders) codified the rules for softball and served as its association's national executive secretary for many years.

If game is to be played under the lights, right before you enter Granby you will see field on your left before you cross overpass for railroad.

From points East: Take I-25 towards Longmont, exit highway 52 (exit 235), go west approx 10 miles. Turn right (north) on 95th. Travel approx 1 mile on 95th. Turn left (West) on Niwot Road. Travel about 1/4 mile on Niwot Road. School is on right (north) side of Niwot Road.
